Surface Pattern Design- A new avenue for creativity and fun from Kate Colleran Designs!

Having sewn since she was young, Kate has had a life-long love of textiles.

A self-taught fabric and quilt pattern designer, her work is inspired by nature and architectural elements. With clean lines and bright colors, Kate uses a mixture of digital and hand-drawn motifs to create her designs.  

She is currently designing fabrics for Island Batik and is expanding her surface pattern designs to other products. Products such as wallpaper, journal covers and wrapping paper to name a few. See some of her designs below.

WINTER ROSE – A HOLIDAY SURFACE PATTERN DESIGN COLLECTION

This collection was started as a challenge to myself to create a holiday print with a modern, Scandinavian folk art feel. I wanted the designs to say Christmas with clean lines. I love using non traditional colors in holiday decorations; aqua blue, teal, light green. I wanted them to work at the holiday time as well as just about anytime!
