Hi friends!
How are you doing with your Allure quilt? Ready for Block 6 tips?
If you are just finding this post and haven’t been following along, here is a recap!
Allure is a BOM pattern that I designed for the QT fabrics to use with their line called Aura. This line of fabrics is just so lovely; it has great depth of color and movement.
I have a “quilt along” series of blog posts to go along with the pattern. No matter when you start making your quilt, you can reference these posts for tips on making your blocks! The posts will run from April 2024 – December 2024!
If you want to quilt along with me and QT, check with your local quilt shop to see if they are carrying Allure and running a BOM program. If not, you can check with this list of shops and see if they can work with you!

Allure BOM Block 6
Block 6 is another easy block for you! And it uses the same fabrics as Block 5!
This month in Block 6 we are making more HST units and also making some rail units by sewing rectangles together.
I think you will be so happy about how quickly you can make this block!
HST Units
There is only 1 size HST unit in this block. So easy peasy!
But just in case you need a refresher, here is a link to my post on making HST units.
Rail Units
The “other” unit in this block are rail units. Our rail units are made from 2 rectangles sewn together.
Again super simple sewing! Yay!
Sometimes you want to make the rail units using long strips of fabric sewn together and then subcut the strip set into your rails. Both methods works but when you only have to make a few units, cutting the rectangles first is not a big deal!
The Block
Once you have the HST units and the rail unit ready to go, it is a simple 9 patch block.
A simple block but simple doesn’t mean boring! The Aura fabrics in this block really helps to make the block be a standout, even when it is a simple design.
And ta-done!
See you next month for Block 7!
happy quilting!
