75 Fun Fat-Quarter Quilts blog hop- my Day

December 17, 2015January 12, 2024 78 comments

Welcome to my day on the 75 Fun Fat-Quarter Quilts book blog hop! Wow. That was a mouthful.

75 fun fat quarter quilts

I am so excited to share this with you. Have you been having fun seeing all the quilts so far and entering for a chance to win? I hope so. This is really a great book with a lot of cool quilts. I think what makes it so much fun is that you are getting a lot of different styles with all the different designers.

Here is my quilt called Log Jam.

Log Jam

The best part about the book is that we were all challenged to make variations on our designs. You know that I love to encourage everyone to make a quilt “their own” and with so many variations for each quilt, every quilter can do just that!

My quilt has a total of 8 variations! And I am sure you all can come up with even more.

One of my variations is called Alter Ego. I thought it would be fun to see, if you bought a few more fat quarters (oh, what a hardship!) and some more white background fabric, if you could get 2 quilts at once. And you can! Log Jam with lots of colored squares and triangles and it’s Alter Ego with lots of white and just a few colored squares and triangles! You can see Alter Ego on the cover of the book (along with a cut out of Log Jam). And here is a close up.

I had so much fun playing with all these fun, bright fabrics from Timeless Treasures.

Doesn’t the quilt remind you of sherbet?

And I am so lucky to work with an wonderful long arm quilter, Crystal Zagnoli of The Quilted Cricket.

While I was at Quilt Market in Houston back in October, I had a chance to record a video for C&T about my quilt and my block. You can see it here: I tell you all about my block and the quilts Log Jam and Alter Ego.

Would you like another chance to win a copy of the book? Great!

Leave a comment below on this post and you will be entered into the drawing for a free book. If you live in the U.S., C&T will mail you a copy of the book; international winners will receive an ebook.

If you subscribe (or are subscribed) to my newsletter you can leave a second comment for an extra chance. A winner will be drawn Wednesday Dec 23rd sometime after 9am EST.

Giveaway is now closed! Thank you to all who entered!

Thank you for visiting with me today and I hope to see you again soon!

happy quilting,

Kate
