Fairy Floss
I was able to get a chance to play with Fairy Floss and create a quilt using it for the Island Batik Fall/Winter 2023 catalog. It is such a nice line, great patterns and a fun mix of light and dark with the purples, blues and green.
My Quilt in Fairy Floss – meet Four Square
Keeping in my usually style, I went for the light side of the line! I had a pattern that was in a magazine that I have been meaning to make into a multi size pattern.
Meet Four Square!
This is a FQ friendly pattern. Something I love to do, but haven’t in a while. Many of you know I just love FQs!!!
It can be done in a crib, lap (shown above) or a bed size quilt!
When I brought the quilt to the Longarm quilter, we weren’t sure what color thread to use! Blue? Purple? White? Green?
In the end we chose a lavender color and it was perfect!

The Giveaway!
I don’t usually run a giveaway when it is not my fabric but…. I happen to have a bundle of 8 FQs, one 1/2 yard of another fabric in the line that could be used as binding if you don’t want to make it scrappy. All you will need is background and backing fabric!!

I really like the pattern and can see it being made in multiple colorways, but the batik is beautiful!
First thing I every pieced together was 6 piece placemat set using autumn colored batik fabrics. Love working with batiks. This collection is beautiful and love the pattern. I think that I have only done one quilt so far that has more negative space to show off blocks, but will definitely look into doing more of this in the future.

I live in your neck of the woods, and we woke up to a TON of snow and it is still coming down. “They” say this snow will be measured in feet instead of inches.
