Wow. What a crazy couple of weeks. I had such a good time at Quilt Market and then I headed to Ponca City, OK and played with the quilters from the Pioneer Area Quilter’s Guild. What a nice bunch of quilters!
On Monday, I did a lecture right after their meeting called A Single Step: The Journey of a Quilt Designer. It is really more of a trunk show and it is different every time I do it based on what quilts I bring.
Then my buddy Gloria took me around, showed me parts of Ponca City and we went to 2 quilt shops: World Weidner that has lots of machines, rulers, gizmos and gadgets and then to Completely Quilted where I bought fabric, of course!
The next day I did a class using my pattern Whirlybird! We had a bunch of quilters and everyone seemed to have fun. And there were a lot of blocks made! Here are a few of them:
We had light backgrounds, dark backgrounds, controlled palettes, scrappy blocks…
What are your plans for the weekend? Want something fun to do? My friend Susan Emory of Swirly Girls has a new free mini quilt called Little Lovely Laurel! I know you are going to like it. There is also an awesome giveaway on her blog along with the free pattern- how can you miss it?
Click on the name or the picture to go get the free pattern and enter the giveaway!
In the meantime, I am off to cut up these pretty fabrics by Robert Kaufman. Should be fun!
Have a great weekend!
Happy quilting,
Kate
