Hi friends!
This is the second post for the Border Quilt Quilt Along. This week for our border quilt we are adding the first set of borders.
If you missed the first post, click here to see how I got started!
There are 2 “solid” borders followed by 2 checkerboard borders.
For my first “solid” border, I decided to go with a light fabric. I thought it would frame the center nicely.
For the checkerboard, I choose these 2 fabrics. I did not have enough of either one to be one of the solid borders, so they were only going to be the checkerboard.
For the final solid border that is in between the 2 checkerboard borders, debated the color. I could have gone with another light fabric like the first one but decided I wanted a pop of color to balance out the center.
Here it is with the first 4 borders.
What do you think?
Isn’t this fun? I love that I am pulling from my stash and playing around. Are you making the quilt along with us?
The next Border Quilt post will be October 10th. So if you haven’t started your Border Quilt yet, you have lots of time to play catch up! Click here to see how to get the pattern.
happy quilting,
Kate

This is such a beautiful color scheme and I love that bright green spacer border! Can’t wait to see more!
Thank you Alison!
I am looking forward to the next round.
