Introducing a new batik line Breezy and a FQ giveaway!!!

March 6, 2024March 12, 2024 228 comments

Hi friends!

I know, I just introduced you to my batik line Winged Things and here is another new batik line Breezy! Due to shipping issues, the 2 lines are coming out in stores close together. Which is great because these 2 lines can work so well together!

Meet Breezy!

I love this line. In my post about Winged Things, I mentioned that it was inspired by trips to the botanic gardens here in Denver. Well, Breezy was also inspired by the gardens, but just by a different season!

Breezy was inspired by the leaves and colors of fall.

I wandered the garden and took pictures of the flowers and leaves…

and then used them to create the line!

Quilts using the new batik line Breezy!

I created a few quilts using Breezy. The fabrics were just so fun to play with!

Paloma

The block in this quilt reminds me of butterflies which is why I named it Paloma.

Of course, with the last line, I did an actual appliquéd butterfly. This one more suggests a butterfly!

Simply Squared

I have always wanted to do a simple quilt that is just squares. And years ago I did a plus sign quilt from Craftsy and wanted to do a different version. SO, I made them into one pattern!!

It’s the same block for both quilt you just reverse the colors.

So fun! Sew simple!

And I love the gradation of color, especially in the square version.

Log Roll

This of you who know me, know I love log cabin quilts! And this has to be one of my favorites!!!

I am having a moment with quilts with gradations of color across the quilts.

Everyone goes through stages…

I love this quilt so much, I am actually making it into a cross stitch pattern as well!

I just stitched out my version and as soon as I get it framed and the pattern ready, it will be up on the website in a new section!

Blustery Day

Blustery Day is a quilt that I actually designed years ago. I had made a couple of versions; one hung in my sewing room every fall!

I knew when I created this batik line that I had to finally make Blustery Day into a pattern!

The leaves can be appliquéd or added as a 3-d for a really cool effect!

And now for the best part… the fabric giveaway!

FQ Giveaway of my new batik line Breezy!

Giveaway is closed! Thank you everyone for your kind words about the fabrics and the patterns! I read every one!

To be entered for a chance to a FQ bundle LEAVE A COMMENT ON THIS BLOG POST. Tell me your favorite season or which of the quilts you might like to make!

The giveaway closes Tuesday March 12th at 9pm. One winner will be chosen by a random number generator!

Thanks for visiting the blog; come back soon!

happy quilting!

Kate

p.s. If you are on Instagram, be sure to pop over there to see the quilts created by other designers using Breezy! They are fabulous!!!

My favourite season is a tie between spring and fall. The colours coming to life in the world around us in spring is so inspiring. The colours of fall are just as inspiring. I love this line of batiks and your patterns. Both are incredibly beautiful!

What a great line! I know it’s an autumn-themed line, but the colors also have a bit of the “last gasp of summer” to me, with their brightness…probably because by the time we hit autumn I am anticipating months of gray, wet weather here in the Pacific Northwest and am trying to pretend there are still some sunny days in my future. As to my pattern choice, I’d go with Log Roll: so “clean” and direct, such good energy.

Summer is my favorite season because I love flowers and nature. My quilts reflect the colors I and shapes in my gardens…a bright batiks girl I am.

I have generally thought of fall as my favorite season — the colors, the cooler temperatures, football, etc. But the last few years I have done a lot of kayaking and wildlife photography and now spring seems like an awfully nice time when everything starts blooming and the birds and animals start moving about. Hard to pick a favorite!
Your fabrics and quilts are gorgeous! I am especially drawn to the Blustery Day and Paloma patterns.

My favourite season is the Fall as that is when my birthday is, as well as the fact I love the Fall colours and temperature. I love the new colours and the Blustery Day pattern.

I already have the log roll pattern waiting on the release of this beautiful fabric. I am way overdue to make a log cabin quilt. All of these patterns are so well suited for the line.

I have always loved a log cabin but the one you showed hee blows me away. I would make that in fall colors. I love fall because the hard work of gardening is over and I get to sew all winter long.

I love batiks! Especially the bright colors. If I won the FQ bundle I would make the Paloma
