Many of us know Schmetz needles- we use them all the time in our sewing machines. And now be honest, how often do you change your needles? At the start of a new project? Only when the needle breaks?
I know I don’t change my needle often enough. And I should change it. It is like when you put that brand new blade in your rotary cutter and think: “Why did I wait so long? Now this thing is cutting like butter!”
It is the same with needles; change your needle more often and your sewing gets easier.
Schmetz has a great marketing director named Rhonda Pierce who I have had the privilege to get to know. I bumped in to her at Quilt Market- right in front of my quilt in the In Full Bloom exhibit. We took a photo together and it ended upon the inside cover of the Inspired to Sew ezine that Schmetz puts out.
Here is a link to the issue if you want to see- there is also a great article about Gail Yellen. They also have a lot of great references on their web site to help you choose the right needle for your project. Just thought you might like to know!
happy quilting,
Kate
