Hi friends!
Welcome to Vermont! Well…. welcome to my day on the Around the Block US Tour where I share my Vermont state quilt block!
Vermont
For those that know me, you may be wondering why I am sharing the Vermont block! I was born, raised and lived in Connecticut most of my life and now I live in Colorado.
So why Vermont? Because Vermont is where I went to college! University of Vermont in Burlington to be exact.
I love Vermont. It is such a beautiful state and I had a great college experience. I remember heading out on sunny afternoons to a grassy area where my friends and I could hang out, sip a drink and enjoy the beauty of the areas- the trees, the mountains and wonderful Lake Champlain!
I remember many ski trips, traveling the state and just enjoying the scenery.
Vermont is known as the Green Mountain State and driving from the “flatlands” of Connecticut to Vermont was always a trip filled with beauty. (Except when I drove at night- or in a snowstorm!)
In the fall, the wonderful colors of the trees covering the mountains would take my breath away. I would often stop my car along the side of the road and just take it all in.
The state quilt block: Colorful Mountains
My block represents Vermont in the fall; the mountains with the mix of green pine trees and colorful maples, oak, birch and more.

Note: the block is listed in my shop and you will have to go through “check out”. But the block is free.
Have you entered the Around the Block US Tour Raffle? Every week there is a new prize! Click here.
If you need any help making your block, I have a post about making HST units, one about QST units and one about partial QST units!
happy quilting!

A gorgeous block!
Thank you Pam!
Thank you for sharing your block. It is so pretty and the fabrics really do make it look like the trees are in Autumn Bloom. This sounds like a wonderful state to visit.
Lori,
It is a very pretty state! And in the fall, the view of the mountains covered in such color, it can take your breath away!
I have the same problem. I have a laptop and will try the arrows. Thanks for the tip.
Barb
You’re welcome!
I was unable to obtain the Vermont block because everytime I get to the screen, the scroll bar(s) disappear. If I click on the shopping cart – same thing.
Hi Beth,
I am not sure why you are having trouble! But if you are a laptop or desktop, try using the up and down arrows on the keyboard to navigate. Hope that works!
Yes it did. Thank you.
