Hi friends!
It has been a while since I posted here. July has been a busy month! In early July, I was helping my friend Crystal at her booth at the quilt show in Castle Rock. The booth looked good great! and we had a lot of fun chatting with all the quilters who stopped at the booth.
Then I was off to Connecticut. Woo hoo! I was able to spend time with my some of my kids- my amazing son Sean and his lovely wife Rea; my beautiful daughter Alyssa and her wonderful husband Jeff, and many other family members and friends.
I am terrible at taking pictures of family. I am just so happy to be with them, I don’t remember the camera. And that is almost unheard of these days, isn’t it? Especially since my phone (and hence a camera) is practically glued to my hip pocket most days! Silly woman.
But I did get this picture of them being goofy at the Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk!
There are many things I love about my new home state, but I can’t help missing my old home state. After all the people who mean so much to me, the thing I miss is the shoreline. There is something so peaceful about the shoreline. And yet so powerful as well.
I was able to do a little quilt shop hopping while in Connecticut. I did not make it to every shop I wanted to, but it was still fun. I should have taken pics while at the shops, but here are a few pics of my fabric haul!
I also traveled up to a cute shop in Massachusetts while back east. The shop, Dragonfly’s Quilt Shop is in Bellingham. The shop has such a great fabric selection, including a lot of dragonfly prints! This is the fabric I snagged while there.
While at the shop, I was able to do a little show and tell with the quilts I brought, sign my books and chat with her customers. Everyone was so nice. We had a lot of fun. So if you are in the area, don’t forget to check out Kathryn’s shop.
Next week there is a lot of fun stuff happening. On Thursday, I am guest blogging over at McCall’s Quilting and there will be a great giveaway- so you won’t want to miss that. And I will be hosting a magazine giveaway here on my blog. A win-win!
Also, the Rocky Mountain Quilt Fever Shop Hop is next week- Aug 4th- Aug 7th. Click here to see the list of shops that are participating. On Thursday night of shop hop, I will at Fabric Expressions helping out my guild, ACQ, with quilt raffle ticket sales from 5p-7p. So please stop by. Click here to see a picture of our raffle quilt. It is amazing!
On Friday of shop hop, I will be at Sew-ciety doing demos and visiting with shop hoppers. I hope to see you there!
In the meantime, I am sewing up a storm here. I missed my machine while I was away; we have some catching up to do!
happy quilting,
Kate
