Hi friends!
Sarah Marcina is hosting a blog hop called Hope Quilts.
She designed a quilt called Hope for Tomorrow and then asked other designers to join her and share a quilt that has meaning for us. What a wonderful theme for a blog hop!
My Quilt for the Blog Hop
Picking one of my quilts was hard; they are all special in their own way. But the quilt I thought I would share is my one called A Bright Future.
When some people look at this quilt, they see spools.
And now that I said that, that is what you will see!
BUT, when I designed the quilt I was thinking of lanterns. Those paper lanterns to be exact. I imagined them strung up in a yard during a celebration- making the yard twinkle and sparkle with the light.
And those paper lanterns have wonderful messages. Though interruptions vary, and each specific lantern and color can have an individual meaning, basically paper lanterns symbolize the wish for a bright future, joy, good fortune and celebrate the return of the sun after a long winter.
Doesn’t this sound like what we need after this year? 2020 has felt like one long winter- where we have all been stuck inside!
My wish for 2021 is that it feels like a breath of fresh air on a sunny day and we can all eventually celebrate life together!
happy quilting!
Kate
