Hi friends!
Today is the day we officially launch 2 new star quilt patterns, Novalie and Astria! And they are on sale until Tuesday Jan 27th!
A while back, after Tammy and I finished up our block of the month quilt pattern Luminous, we talked about what we might do next. We both love star blocks, we both loved Luminous so we thought we would use that quilt pattern as inspiration and do a take off of a star block.
But what to do? Do we make an exploding star? Or, do we make a star block and see how we can change it up and have variations?
Maybe… should we do both? You know the answer; we did both and the next thing you know, we have 2 new star quilt patterns!
Meet Novalie!
Novalie is a small wall hanging size quilt with an exploding star block!
Meet Astria!
Astria is a lap size quilt that uses one star block and then keeps changing it up!
Not only did we challenge each other to make 2 new quilt patterns but we decided to continue the color challenge we did with Luminous and have Tammy make her quilts with a dark background and I was to make my quilts with a light background.
Click here to go see Tammy’s versions of the quilts! They are bold, dramatic and just awesome!
It was a little more challenging to create a dramatic quilt with a light background, but then light doesn’t always have to mean white!
For these new star quilt patterns we both used fabrics from Island Batik- a mix of their basics, solids and blenders.
Next week I will share more about my color choices for Novalie and the week after I will chat about how I ended up using that solid green for Astria!
But for now, just know the 2 patterns are on sale until Tuesday Jan 27th! Click here to check out Novalie and here for Astria! There is even a better deal if you get both!
Happy quilting!
