Hi friends!
Today we start the February Quilt Block Remix Challenge and share our fabrics!
February Quilt Block
First, a quick rehash for those of you new to the posts. What is the Quilt Block Remix Design Challenge? Each month Tammy and I pick a basic quilt block. And then we challenge other quilt pattern designers (and ourselves) to remix the block! We post 4 times during the month on Instagram (and I also post to Facebook) and this year I am also doing a blog post each week for those who aren’t on Instagram or Facebook!
The first post is about introducing the original block and the fabrics we have picked for our remixed block.
This month the block is called Raspberry Cheesecake.
I love the name and the block is pretty cute. But I don’t get cheesecake from it. Though I must admit the name does bring up some yummy connotations and now I really want raspberry cheesecake!!!

February Quilt Block fabrics
To start the remix series, we always share our fabrics. But really, when designing a new block, does the fabric come first? Sometimes, but not always!
I did know that I wanted to use some fabrics from my new batik line Winged Things.
Note: I am having an IG hop on Wednesday and a FQ giveaway here on the blog this Wed February 7th. So be sure to come back!!
After playing around with some block ideas, I narrowed down my fabric choices to this group.
So soft, so springy… I can just picture the flowers just budding on the trees.
Yes, I am ahead of myself! We just had a nice snowstorm here this weekend so spring is still a ways away.
See you next week for a sneak peek of my remixed block!
Happy quilting!
Kate
p.s. Did you see I am doing a second quilting cruise? This one is in February of 2025!!!
