Hi friends!
It’s a new month and time to share the fabrics for the March Block Remix Challenge!
Did you miss last months block posts? Start here.
The March Block
First, the block. This month we are working with the Yellow Tulip block.
It’s a pretty simple block and at first I thought, what do I do with this? There are a few different ways to go but I am not sure what I will do.
March Block remix fabrics
After debating a few ideas, I decided to keep to a bright spring palette using some batik fabrics I had leftover from another project. The colors are yellow to orange with a pop of green.
I think they will make for a great remixed tulip block!
As for the design, I am really not sure which way I will go with this! I have been debating a bit and I just need to get into the computer and start to play. I’ll share more about that next week with our first sneak peek.
March
March makes me happy! It is the month of St Patty’s Day, it’s the month of the start of spring… and both of my boys have birthdays this month! March is a great month!
And this year the month of March is crazy busy for me so I have to get this block designed and made so I can hop on a plane in a couple of weeks and head out to teach on my first quilt cruise! OH my! I am very excited but also super nervous.
Nervous about teaching a large class and the students having high expectations. Yikes.
Nervous about being on a boat- very worried about getting seasick.
Nervous about being away from work for so long but I have to learn to be on vacation! Oh wait, this isn’t a vacation; it’s a work trip! I do hope to get a little downtime to play a little.
See you next week for the first sneak peek into my design process with my March block remix!
happy quilting!
Kate
p.s. Not only do I leave to teach on my first quilting cruise soon, cruise #2 is set for February of 2025!!
