Nameless Quilt Contest

September 3, 2014July 29, 2020 19 comments

We need your help. Our quilt needs a name. We have tried and tried and we just can’t seem to find one we like! Naming quilts can be tricky. We loved naming our Cat Nap series of quilts; they were easy. Cat name = quilt name! Done!

This quilt is our newest pattern. A really fun, easy to piece block that creates a striking design.

DSCN0959I used this great mustache fabric as my “focus” fabric-and Crystal quilted mustaches all over the quilt,  but I don’t want to name the quilt based on mustache fabric. So what to do?

Can you help?

Do you have a suggestion for the name of this pattern?

Leave a comment with a name suggestion and if we use your name you could win a copy of the pattern! (Or if your name suggestion is the inspiration for the name.) One pattern; one winner.

Put your thinking caps on!

Pink and green quiltHow about the quilt in pink and green fabrics?

Orange QuiltOr a nice fall color scheme?

I bet it would look great in Christmas fabrics!

Please, help us name this quilt!

happy quilting,

Kate

My first thought was “twirling around the dock” before I saw the other two colors schemes. Stars on deck?

Star Composition is my suggestion. The more I look at it the more I like it.

Wrapped in Stars or Woven Stars OR Edgar. You named the others after cats so Edgar is my dog’s name. 🙂

With the orange and black, falling stars. Stars abound for the others. I love the orange, would love to make it for us here in Alaska to bring color.

When I first saw the quilt I thought Twirling stars, but then when I saw it n different colors I wasn’t sure. So maybe I’ll give it more thought. The Orange could be blazing stars, but not everyone will use orange. It is a problem

My first thought when I saw the quilt was Lattice Stars and I see Janet also shared this title. My second idea was Lattice Twist. Good luck in finding a name that sings to you. Love the orange/black/yellow combo.

Put a little embroidered mustache on each quilt and call it this: ” Secret Stache” or “Secret Stash”

Good luck to you, with both name and the contest!

    Cheers!

Spinning Weave, because it looks like pinwheels are set in a woven background.
