Free Quilt Block and Upcoming New QAL Program!

Hi friends!

Kris and I have a surprise free quilt block for you!

Collaborating with Kris

As you know, I have posted a few times about my friend Kris Poor of Poorhouse Quilt Designs.

We been having so much fun collaborating on these blog posts the last few months. So we wanted to create a name for our collaboration and since we chat and drink our coffee, we thought it would be fun to call it Koffee Klatch with Kate and Kris! 

So we came up with a logo – here it is:

And we hope to share more fun collaborations in the future! In the meantime…

Free Quilt Block

Naturally, since we had this cute Koffee Kup logo, we had to make a Koffee Kup block quilt block to go along with it!!

To make her block, Kris used these fun fabrics:

Here is Kris’s Koffee Kup block:

Here are my fabrics; I used leftover bits of my Sea Cookies fabrics (I loved this batik line!):

Mug Rugs

Both Kris and I made the block into a mug rug- of course! But we each did a little something different. Here is Kris’s mug rug. She just added a one strip of background to the side of the block, quilted and bound it.

And here is mine! I added a border all the way around it and then quilted it and added scrappy binding.

Aren’t they fun????

Upcoming Quilt Along!

All that designing and klatching and drinking of coffee, led us to think about creating a program.

We will share all the details next month, but here’s a few hints of the fun to come:

We are so excited because we love everything fall! Things like fall fabric, pumpkin spice lattes, and apple spice muffins!

We know spring is just starting but it’s never too early to plan for fall!
