Hi friends!
Wow! Summer is my favorite season. So why is it that July speeds by when January feels like it is 3 months long???
My Summer Projects:
What are your favorite things to do in the summer? I do love to get outside and hike when I can or at least, talk a good walk around the neighborhood. Feels so good to be out in the fresh air- at least when it is not 95 degrees!
My other favorite thing is to be at the beach.
Which, being in Colorado, isn’t happening anytime soon. BUT, I am already planning a trip back east next year so I can visit family AND spend time at the beach. I just find being by the water so soothing.
So sometimes I work outside on my deck where I can listen to our fountain.
This was a busy month for me and maybe that is why it is flying by! First we had the Designer Tips and Techniques videos, then the Quilt Designer Shop Hop.
I loved everyone’s blocks! If you missed the week of posts about the blocks, you can still get all the blocks- they are just $2 each. Click here for the list of links.
And this past Monday, the Christmas in July Project Hop with Benartex started!!
Click here to get all the links. Don’t forget my day to post in this hop is next Wednesday!
The other summer project that kept me super busy this month was preparing to film a class with Quilting Daily! This week I filmed a class up in Golden CO. It worked out great! Everyone on set wore masks (except me when filming) and we kept our distance. And we still had fun! I can’t wait for you to see what I did.
Now it is time for me to start the next project on the list! Here are the fabrics I chose- amazing batiks from Island Batik!
I will share more pictures soon…
As soon as I get all the cat hair off the fabric! Luna! My quilt helper?
What about you? What are you working on? Share your summer projects in a comment below!
Enjoy your weekend and I will see you next week! If you need me, I am out on the deck, working and watching the wildlife!
happy quilting,
Kate
There are 2 places my cats are forbidden; my sewing room and our bed at night ( the dogs got there first:-)
Currently doing no sewing as I am recuperating from a fall and nasty gash on my leg:-( maybe next week, I hope.
Fran,
I am so sorry to hear about your injury. I hope it heals quickly! Cats are locked out of the bedroom at night here as well; one kept climbing on me at 3 am, pawing my face, scratching at me to wake up and pet her! But the sewing room has no door so it is free game to them!
