Hi friends!
A lot of the sewing I have been doing lately is still “not available for show”, so I debated what I would like to talk about today here on the blog.
And then while scrolling thru Facebook, I saw this quote on The Train To Crazy’s timeline:
And then this one popped up: Life is not being rich, being popular, being highly educated or being perfect. It is about being real, being humble and being kind.
And then my favorite: Happiness is the new rich. Inner peace is the new success. Health is the new wealth. Kindness is the new cool.
Many days I pop on Facebook because I need to check for comments, respond and see if what I posted got any likes. Business stuff. But then, I get to scroll my newsfeed, see posts from friends who I don’t get to see often, or see fun quilty stuff and cool quilting quotes.
I also get to see things I would rather not, but that is how life works right? Bad things sprinkled in with the good. And hopefully just a small sprinkle.
Do you use Facebook? Instagram? Or do you stay away from those social media platforms?
Right now, I love seeing the posts of people’s houses decorated for the Holidays – it is getting me motivated to get busy! I have gotten exactly 3 items put up. Hey, it’s a start!
For my inner peace, I am telling myself I get to decorate at my pace, in my time!
And as for happiness, I am happy to be here, in this place, writing my blog and sharing with all of you. Thank you for stopping by.
happy quilting,
Kate
I use Facebook to keep up with family and friends spread around the world. I usually pop in there once a day. What I like about Facebook is, if I don’t like/agree with a post, I am under no obligation to “like” it or to respond to it. I can follow my mother’s advice: “If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all.” Love your bunny…I miss tole painting but quilting has taken over my life!!
Susan,
Love your mother’s advice; I heard that one as well when I was a kid. And now, I say that to myself all the time. Happy quilting!
