Hi friends!
It’s time for snack peek #2 of the January Quilt Block Remix challenge!
The original block
In post #1, I shared the original block and the fabrics I planned to use- you can see that here.
Last week was post #2- where I revealed a potential remix idea. Click here to see more on that.
Now we are up to the second sneak peek!
January Sneak Peek #2
I wasn’t 100% on board with the changes I had made. I didn’t really like the secondary pattern the block created so my next thought was, what if each side of the block was a different color?
Hmmm….
So I added HST units to be able to separate the sides and recolored. Fun!
Kind of a funky, more modern center to the block.
Next question: what does it look like in my batiks?
Not bad.
As a quilt?
Much better!! More movement and a better secondary pattern. So, should I stop here? I could but I have one more week to keep playing and remixing… we’ll see what happens!
Would you stop here??
See you next week for the big block remix reveal!
happy quilting,
Kate
p.s. Did you see I am teaching on a second quilting cruise? This one is in February of 2025!!!
