Hi friends!
Today is the Kismet Thread Project hop using Aurifil thread!
Kismet
Kismet is the name of Tammy Silvers fabric line with Island Batik and the name of her coordinating thread collection with Aurifil.
Her thread is a wonderful collection of 28 wt thread. There are 10 spools in a rainbow of color.

So my first decision was, what to make??
I wanted to find a way to combine one of my small projects with an embroidery project. So I asked my daughter Alyssa to create an embroidery design for me.
And she delivered the cutest little flower and leaves design. I stitched it up on a lightweight yellow cotton print.
Trying to decide how many threads to use was my next decision. So I used 3- 4 threads for the long stems, big leaves and flower and 2-3 threads for the smaller areas. That worked out pretty well!
For some of the spots I mixed green threads with blue threads to give a little variety to the color.
Embroidery done.
Next to add it to a project.

I cut the cotton to size to use in my HeadRest pillow pattern. I love that while the main feature of this pillow is the braid, the blocks are big enough to add a little embroidery!
And of course, I used Tammy’s Kismet fabrics for the pillow! Aren’t these fun? What a bright, happy line of fabric!
Then I used some of the thread to quilt the pillow top. I could have used all the colors but I kept it to the ones I used in the embroidery.
I always think a quilted pillow looks so cozy.
Whatcha think? I love it!
Alyssa might have the embroidery design available in her ETSY shop someday: things are busy at the farm these days as she is harvesting up a ton of good food!
