Adventure in Color Quilt Along
And just like that, we are ready for Block 6 of Luminous in the Adventure in Color Quilt Along project!
How amazing is that?
Block 6 is named after Selene, a Greek goddess. She is also known as the goddess of the full moon and is said to represent passion and devotion- to others and to the arts that make our heart sing!

Here is my Selene block.
I have one tip for you on making this block- when possible, double check the sizes of your block as you go.
There are a lot of seams and it is easy to end up with the block a little bit off, so check the size of the block after each round before moving on.
And sometimes that scant ¼” seams is your best friend!

Luminous Quilt Long Project Block 6: Other Colorations
Just for fun, since this is an adventure in color, here are 4 other colorations for my Selene block. I didn’t change the look of the block, just switched out colors.
Option 1
In option 1, I added 3 more colors.
Option 2
For option 2, I changed up some spots for the yellow and the light background.
Option 3
Option 3 adds in the aqua for the yellow for a much more muted look.
Option 4
Now, I love the original version of my block, but it is fun to see other ways to mix it up and the way you you decide to color your block really depends on the look and feel you want for your quilt. I wanted my star to twinkle in this quilt, so keeping the yellow in the block was important to me.
I also felt there was so much piecing in block 6 that is didn’t need too many colors. The way I colored option 1 has a lot more colors which can make it busy. Of course, sometimes busy is good!
