OK- I will try very hard to make this a no whining zone. Nah. If I can’t whine on my own blog, where can I whine?
I am packing, again. For a good reason I must admit. Hubby and I are heading back East tomorrow to see family and friends for a couple of days, then heading on to London and Scotland to see our son and our daughter in law.
Wow.
Exciting stuff. But just like the parent with small children, who everyone tells-“Enjoy this time! They grow so fast!”, I am tired.
Parents do try to enjoy the time when their children are little- there are moments of unbelievable joy. But there are also hours of bone weary, jaw clenching tiredness and frustration. Packing, moving, Quilt Market, unpacking, repacking and a trip in 5 weeks feels a little like that. All good things, but still tiring. And, because they are truly good things, if you complain, people think badly of you.
So, how does one pack for a trip where it is 40 degrees in Scotland and 90 degrees in CT? Dump your entire closet in a bag? Sounds like a plan to me!
For those of you who have traveled, I have one afternoon and one day in London- what are you favorite places to go?
And, due to all the packing and prep, I have not actually sewn much in weeks. Other than samples. I miss it. Maybe I need a little quilting therapy.
Think I can sneak in some sewing while packing? Something fun!
Hmmm…. I feel better already!
Aren’t these cute? I bought this little fabric pack while on my road trip out here last year.
And really, I cannot wait to see two of my three wonderful children! And my daughter in law. And my soon to be son in law.
I guess I am going to plan another trip soon to see the other son, unless I can get him to come see me!
Ok- I am feeling better! Thanks for listening (and not judging too harshly!).
Happy quilting,
Kate
I will try to post fun things from the road.
