Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks Blog Tour- our day!

November 14, 2013July 30, 2020 285 comments

Hi all!

So glad you could visit with us today.

We were so excited when our block made it into the Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks vol 8.

And we were even more excited when we saw it was on the cover! How fun!

QMMS-130037-cover_200_56636

Our block, Summer Heat, is on page 57 of the magazine.

When we designed it, it was in the middle of winter and we were dreaming of summer.

Hot, sunny days, cool waters, bright flowers…  that was the inspiration behind our color choice for the block.

How did we do?

Then we decided to try the block in a quilt- so we made some blocks with the pink star points and some without and voila!

A great looking wallhanging!

It would work well as a runner, or even a bigger quilt.

When you combine the blocks, you get such wonderful  movement, don’t you?

And of course, we have a giveaway!

Leave a comment and you will be entered to win either one of two Quiltmaker’s 100 Block, vol 8 magazines or this adorable mini quilt and four coasters!

Let us know if you follow us on FB or get our newsletter and you will get extra chances!

Mini quilt and Coaster

And if you visit our quilt page and include in your comment the name of  your favorite of our quilt patterns, you will be entered into a second drawing to win one of our patterns!

Giveaway ends tomorrow night at midnight and winner will be announced here on Saturday!

Good evening…what a fun block. I life the quilt design that has a circle effect in the middle without a curved line to be had. I like it a lot. Over in you patterns I was drawn by two of them Tiger Lily and Magnetic Midnight… they’re real eye catchers.
    thank you.

Love this block! And it looks so good in the completely setting. Omitting the pink points on some of the blocks makes this one perfect! I visited your patterns, and I like the Sparkles pattern the best. Ribbon Candy came in a close second, but what makes Sparkles so special are those borders!

I like the way you added the alternate blocke by simply taking away one component of the original. I don’t think that I would have thought of that, but it shows that the simple answers are sometimes the best.

Definitely going to need to think summer again. The colors are great, some of my favorites and if I were to make the Tussy Mussy quilt I think I would look through my stash for similar colors to use in it.

Great job, and congrats on being in the 100 Blocks magazine, I look forward to it and have every issue so far.
