Ever have so many projects going you don’t know where to start?
Of course you do, that is what a lot of quilters do! And if you don’t do that, I am sure you know a quilter who does!
Some call it the “Shiny object syndrome”. We see another project and … the next thing you know, we have abandoned what we were working on, bought more fabric and are on to the next project before the first one is done!
I call it “Squirrel!” because I am less attracted to shiny objects.
Hmmm, that sounds really bad.
Actually, there is a squirrel that runs all day long back and forth across the fence that separates the property of our apartment from the golf course. Of course, I don’t really know if it is the same squirrel all day, or many squirrels; luckily, my distraction is not that detail oriented!
Right now, Elizabeth and I are getting ready for Spring Quilt Market in Portland Oregon. We are really excited to go as we have never been to Portland. So, that also means, we have a lot of irons in the fire. Many projects to do. Type up this pattern. Make this sample. Plan for this. Do that. And the list goes on. Some days it is really hard to know which to do first!
And then, if I get on the computer and go to Facebook, or Twitter or Pinterest, watch out! Next thing you, 2 hours are gone! Have you checked out Pinterest? So much fun! We have a Pinterest page- go check it out and get started!
Today, I am sharing my first project.
I am making a bag to go with a donation quilt we are making.
It is a little bright, but that is part of the fun!
After that, well… that is still to be determined. But I am going to try to finish one project before I start the next!
I’ll let you know how that goes!
happy quilting,
Kate
And thank you again to all who entered the giveaway- it was so much fun! We will have to do another one soon! Maybe we will come back from Quilt Market with some goodies for you all! Who knows? It could happen!
I laughed to see your title, and then reading further had me really laughing out loud! (family teased me from the other room, saying “party for one” lol) We say the same terms, “Squirrel!” or, “I was gonna but, then I saw something shiny…” Anyway, enjoy those spontaneous projects, they are so much fun ~
