October can be a busy time for the quit industry. Many of you may have heard of International Quilt Festival, which is the big quilt show in Houston Texas. A mecca of fabric, supplies, patterns, gizmos and gadgets for quilters.

Right before Festival is Quilt Market, which is the industry’s trade show. Quilt pattern designers, fabric companies, makers of sewing machine and sewing tables and other cool quilty stuff have booths and show off their wares to the quilt shops. Quilt Market is at the end of next week, so everyone is getting ready.
This year, I am not having a booth but I am still I getting ready mode! I have been working on getting a new pattern ready to show, worked on a quilt that will be in a fabric company’s booth and am working on a bunch of other projects whose deadlines just happen to be around Quilt Market! Yikes!

Sunday I came home from 5 days away at a business seminar and I made a quilt. Bam!
Well, I made the top. Not bad after 3 hours of sleep and a 3 hour plane ride.
I dropped it off to the long arm quilter on Monday. Now I am working on the next top, waiting on fabric to arrive and just, in general, putting the pedal to the metal.
Wish me luck!
happy quilting,
Kate
