Quilting Giveaways

August Giveaway #2

August 13, 2015July 28, 2020 28 comments

I decided another giveaway was in order.

Booth-RMQFBut first, for those of you in the general Colorado area, there is another quilt show this weekend. The Rocky Mountain Quilt Festival is in Loveland this Thursday, Friday and Saturday (August 13-15).

Some of my quilts will be hanging in the Innova booth (Hunter Heirloom Quilting) and I will be hanging around in the booth on Saturday. So if you are around, pop in and say Hi!
Another magazine that I have been lucky enough to have quilts in this year is Quiltmaker magazine.blue bayou quilt

Have you seen my latest quilt? It is called Blue Bayou. I just LOVE the colors in this quilt. So calming- so blue! I have already mentioned that blue and green is one of my favorite color combos. A nice summer color scheme.

blue quiltThis is the last in my series of “one block” quilts that I did with Quiltmaker this year. I had a blast making this quilt and I really like all the design possibilities in it as well. A simple block with dynamic results.

I have one copy of the magazine to give away. Leave a comment to be entered for a chance to win it. You can leave any old random comment, but I would love to hear if you have a go-to color scheme when you make your quilts.QMMP-15100-covers_500px

Contest will close Sunday August 16th at 9pm (my time). Open to US and Canada only (sorry, shipping overseas is not fun and just a little too pricey!).    Contest is closed. Thank you to all who entered!

Happy quilting,

Kate

Love your quilt and the colors you used. Very soothing. I don’t have a specific color, I just find a fabric or color I like, then go from there.

I have this magazine! I was admiring your quilt. My favorites are aqua, teal and turquoise with some green thrown in.
I love color, any color. My first quilt is a mix of hues. I love every one.

I don’t have one color scheme. I do love autumn colors and enjoy working with them. Your one block quilt is super.

I don’t have a specific go to color. It depends on who I am making the quilt for. I love Blue and White and Blue and Green and shades of purple.

I loved blues, all shades from aquas right to navy blue. I think I’d like to do a quilt with all those gradients of blues. I’ve never tried before but your QM quilt may be perfect for that project.

My go to color combo is anything that includes blue–blue and white, red, white and blue, blue and cheddar–gotta have the blue!!

My favorite color is red, so my home colors have been a pretty traditional use of red, green, gol & black. Lately, though, I’ve been loving the newer, fresher, aquas, corals, etc. of course, I still find ways to sneak a bit of red into most of my quilts! that’s what makes it my signature color, right?

I don’t really have a go to color scheme. I see so many bloggers who seem to, where you can always pick out their quilts because the tell-tale colors are there (in a good way). Mine are all over the place, depending on my mood, the pattern, the intended recipient, what I was thinking of when I started the quilt. I think I like it that way, though. And it has made for a really wonderful scrap pile. 🙂

P.S. Am I the only one who is now humming LInda Ronstadt’s “Blue Bayou”? Thanks for the giveaway.

MY go-to color scheme is whatever I have in my stash…a bit extensive so I can pretty much do anything my heart desires! For a while it was pink and black and right now teal and gray seem to be my trend! Thank you for the opportunity to win this Quiltmaker issue!!!

    Hmmm,
Don’t really have a go’to color scheme but I love purples, golds and greens. Today I’m finishing up a row by bow and all the colors in it are blues/greens/aquas and I’ll admit it’s soothing. Just have to bind it up and call it good.
Congratulations on being in Quiltmaker. It’s probably my favorite magazine and should renew my subscription.

I tend to go for rainbow colors, but teals and grays are favorites too. I was just contemplating a subscription to Quiltmaker!

I don’t have a go to colour scheme as such. I have a list of quilts I want to make and one is blue and white, and also red and white. Mostly I like multi coloured quilts the best. I build my quilt colours around the fabric that I am crazy about at the time. Your Blue Bayou is gorgeous – love blue and green together. I think I see the block that you have used in the quilt and it would be great to see the pattern in the book to see if I have worked it out correctly.

No go to color scheme. I see what the pattern is and what mood mood I’m in when the fabric is chosen.
