Quilting Giveaways

Christmas in July- the last post.

July 30, 2025July 30, 2025 15 comments

Hi friends!

Christmas in July

Hasn’t this been a fun month? To celebrate the idea of Christmas in July, I have had 3 different fabric giveaways and all your comments have been so sweet!

And the Just Dandy strip pack was the favorite!

Note- the winner has been notified.

Click here to see the post and all the different strip patterns I shared.

I was debating on how to wrap this month up and since we have this last Wednesday, I thought I would do one final, small giveaway.

But first, did you know I am now also designing cross stitch patterns?

Cross Stitch

I have been a long fan of cross stitch and I used to love to create samplers when friends had babies. And every year I display one I did that has a Christmas theme!

I recently got back into it and have been turning some of my quilt patterns into cross stitch!

Log Roll, the quilt, became Log Roll the cross stitch!

Top US quilting blog and shop, Kate Colleran Designs, shares about her Christmas in July posts and a last giveaway for the month! Image is a cross stitch pattern in oranges, purples and greens featuring log cabin quilt blocks.

And so did Cassie the quilt- meet Cassie the cross stitch!

Top US quilting blog and shop, Kate Colleran Designs, shares about her Christmas in July posts and a last giveaway for the month! Image is star quilt blocks made as cross stitch in blues, grey greens and rose in a white wood frame.

But this next one makes me laugh!

Top US quilting blog and shop, Kate Colleran Designs, shares about her Christmas in July posts and a last giveaway for the month! Image is a cross stitch pattern that says Cut, Sew, Rip, Repeat. Shown in blues, teals, pink and green in a white wooden frame.

Cut, Sew, Rip is often my mantra when sewing. I need to rip often as I get things turned around and sometimes… well, if I am in a hurry, they might stay that way because I didn’t notice, at least not until the quilt was quilted, bound and on display!

oops!

And yes, this did happen to me recently!

Butterflies

In 2024 I created a calendar using butterflies as my theme. Each month featured a different butterfly.

I loved that calendar. I hated not using the butterflies again so I created stickers using some of them. And now I am turning all 12 into cross stitch!

The series is called Fluttering through the Year and I have 2 done and up on the website and I am releasing 2 more next month!

This is Avril; she is my April butterfly.

Top US quilting blog and shop, Kate Colleran Designs, shares about her Christmas in July posts and a last giveaway for the month! Image shows a pink and orange butterfly as both cross stitch and a sticker.

And this is Maeve, the butterfly for May.

Top US quilting blog and shop, Kate Colleran Designs, shares about her Christmas in July posts and a last giveaway for the month! image shows a small orange, aqua, green and magenta butterfly as a sticker and cross stitch.

Leona (August) and Aster (September) will come out next month and then I am trying to decide if I move onto October or jump  around some more?

The Giveaway

Now that you know about my butterflies, some of my cross stitch and stickers, my giveaway makes more sense!

For the last Christmas In July post, I am giving away a gift bag with a butterfly notepad, stickers and quilt stickers.

I love these!

Recently I was asked at a guild what someone would use the stickers for. Well, stickers are NOT just for kids!  The butterfly stickers are on my sewing machine to dress it up and the quilt stickers are on my water bottle. Well, one water bottle has butterflies, one had quilts!!

You can keep these or give them away.  Something fun and different! And did I mention the little gift bag is in some of my Just Dandy fabrics?

To enter the giveaway, leave a comment on this blog post.

The giveaway closes Saturday August 9th at 9pm ET. I will email the winner and if I don’t receive a reply in 2 days, I will pick another winner.

Don’t know how to leave a comment? Scroll to the bottom of this blog post and look for the Leave a Reply box. Enter your comment in the box and then click on the Post Comment button! Easy peasy!

happy quilting!

Kate

Note: my website and I are on vacation starting tomorrow.

Which means you can place an order but if the item needs to be shipped, it has to wait until we are no longer on vacation! We will be back up and running Monday August 10th! Of course, PDFs are always available for immediate download. I just can’t help with trouble shooting until vacation is over!

I love to cross stitch, and combining quilting and cross stitch is a win-win. The “Cut, Sew, Rip, Repeat” is a classic.

Happy Vacation! I adore these stickers and the cross stitch patterns. Would love to win the giveaway. I would put some of stickers on my travel sewing machine and favorite water bottle.
Are they counted cross stitch or are the patterns on the fabric?
    Thank you!
