Hi friends!
Today is the February Quilt block Sneak Peek #1 post!
The Remix Block
Last week I started with the original Raspberry Cheesecake block and I shared the fabrics I planned to use in my block remix.

Now we are starting to play with the block!
February Quilt block Sneak Peek #1
To start my remix, I wanted to mix up the center of the block. I mean, the big square in the center looks alright, and if you used a fun print, it could be fine but I thought I might want a pieced unit.
Should I do a pinwheel?
How about a Quarter Square triangle or Hourglass unit?
Maybe a Square in a Square?
I decided I was going to try the square in the square. But I needed to see how it looks in the batik fabrics.
One of the things I really like about this block is all the yellow and orange units are on point. I like the angles and star that is formed. And I like that the center repeats the that square in a square unit. But the color placement isn’t quite working for me; and this version doesn’t have as strong a diamond feel as the original. Hmmmm….
What else can I do with them? What would you do?
I will keep playing and see you back here next week for another Sneak Peek!
happy quilting!
Kate
