I want to thank everyone who stopped by here on the Spash of Color book blog hop! It was fun to read all your comments. So many great suggestions on what to name my quilt. I am going to pick the new name of my quilt soon. Thank you!
The giveaway for the ecopy of Jackie’s book is still open until Oct 5th. If you haven’t entered that one, click here!
Some of you may have already seen the blog post I did over on the McCalls Quilting blog on Sunday. It showed pictures of my latest quilt in their Nov Dec issue. The quilt is called Santa’s Mailbag. If you haven’t commented over there, pop on over and leave a comment. Riley Blake donated a few great bundles of fabric to giveaway! Plus, it has been really fun to read the comments about people’s holiday traditions.
Do you have special holiday traditions? I think having traditions are wonderful; but when life changes, sometimes the traditions have to change as well. Has that happened to you? My kids are grown now, so the things we did every year when then they were young, well, we don’t do them anymore. And, as some of you know, my kids are scattered across the globe. I don’t get to see them at the holidays as much as I would like. But creating new traditions can be fun and I am learning to embrace the changes.
I just love this quilt. When I saw the fabrics from Riley Blake, a line called Postcards for Santa, I knew I had to do something with them. This quilt will be part of my new Christmas traditions. I hope you like it too!
I am giving away 2 copies of the magazine. If you are interested, leave a comment below. I will draw a winning name on Sunday night after 9pm (my time). I am sorry but the giveaway is limited to US and Canada readers (just too pricey to ship anywhere else!). Giveaway is closed- thanks for entering!
Have a great rest of your week and good luck!
happy quilting,
Kate
p.s. If you do leave a comment, make sure I can reach you! I am still trying to reach one of the winners of last month’s magazine giveaway. If you are wondering if it might be you, click here to see the winners name’s from the McCalls Quick Quilts Sept giveaway.
Yes, I agree traditions are great, but when it comes time to make a new tradition, takes a little more effort. But the tradition of reading McCall’s is always a real treat, Kathy in Colo
I already receive McCall’s Quilting magazine so don’t enter me in the giveaway, but I wanted to tell you that your quilt has made me fall in love with Santa’s Postcards. I love the pattern, the way the fabric is featured, and your color blend. I have that page bookmarked in my magazine and look at it every day. 😉 Congratulations!
