How are you? It is snowing here today.

Really?

Snow?

I love snow but to be honest, I am just about done with it this year. Snow is always so pretty but… so is blue sky and 70 degree temps! 

This is how Lily is spending the day. She is NOT a fan of snow.

This  week I spent a dew days taping a quilt class up in Golden CO at the F&W studios. What a blast I had! The group they have there was terrific to work with and they made my job easier. Thank you guys!

Of course, it is never easy for me to tape a show. I get so nervous before I start and then, once each taping session is over, I can’t even remember what I said!

This is a picture of the set for one of the lessons. Since I was making small projects, I got to decorate the set with quilts from the book and some of my magazine quilts. I tried to choose ones that coordinated with my projects.

The class will go live in July on craftonlineuniversity.com. I will keep you posted on the details.

I love when my quilts end up on the cover of a magazine. It really is such a thrill to see. And this was super special because my daughter, Alyssa, pieced the quilt top for me. I was so busy that month and she came to the rescue.

This is the June/July issue of McCall’s Quick Quilts. The quilt, Sea Glass, was quilted by the amazingly talented Crystal Zagnoli of the The Quilted Cricket. I love it! The fabric is by P&B Textiles called Soft Dreams.

Oh- I almost forgot!  I have 2 quilts in this issue! This is a little banner that I made that they also included- isn’t it cute?

This quilt, Mix it Up, was in the McCall’s Quilting May/June issue that I showed a couple of weeks ago. But, since I now have a magazine to give away, I am showing it off again! Love this one too.

I was in a quilt shop the other day and was looking at fabric. I saw fabric from this line, Mixology, on the shelf and I was thinking, wow, I really like this fabric. Then I realized, wait a second, I know why I like it, I used it in this quilt! Silly me. 

So, onto the giveaway!!

  23. Kate, Congratulions on having 2 quilts published in the same magazine. Both of them are beautiful. I am very new to quilting, and teaching myself at that. Doing lots of reading on techniques. I’m having fun selecting my colors and how I want to arrange them. Thank you for the chance to win one of the magazines.

  41. Love the quilt on the cover! I can see it made it a variety of color combinations, to meet whatever the recipient likes. And please keep the snow there! We have had rain and storms here the last couple of days, so spring is definitely here. 🙂

    Congrats on you publications w/in Quick Quilts…….how cool that is!! Seaglass is my favorite color so a Seaglass quilt will look great in my summer beach’ed home. Thank you.
    Book Nook is perfect for a mini or wall hanging, as I’m making several season ones for a sister whom recently moved into a new home. Thank you again.
