Hi friends!
So, do you ever make a quilt more than once? Maybe you have a favorite pattern that you make over and over?
Saturday is National Sew a Jelly Roll day and many of my local quilt shops are doing some fun jelly roll related events! One of my “go-to” quilt patterns that I have made more than once is my Jelly Roll Jumble quilt. I have made it a few times as it is fairly easy, looks good and since it uses a jelly roll and only 2 other fabrics, it is a snap to pick colors and put together!
The first one I made was in browns with tans, blue and dusty pinks. Definitely more of a country look but I loved it. I added the brown outer border and the stripes at the top to make the quilt fit a twin bed.
And the little one in pinks and white- I just loved that one too! I donated it to a raffle for breast cancer.
The last one I made was the new cover quilt. I fell in love with this bright jelly roll of batiks and thought it would work so great with the quit. I was right!
Another favorite jelly roll quilt of mine is called Crossroads. Originally Crossroads was called Crossroads thru CT as it was designed for a shop hop in CT.
After the shop hop, I rewrote the instructions and named it Crossroads. I have made some virtual re-dos of Crossroads, like this one I recently did using fabric from an Artisan Batiks line called Anemone by Lunn Studios for Robert Kaufman. This line looks soooo pretty!
And now, I have new fabric in the house!
These fabrics are from Timeless Treasures and the line is called Angelfish. Each of their Tonga Treats has 20 strips in the pack, so I will be using 2 packs. Trying to decide if I make the lap quilt or the twin. I think I may go for the twin.
Blog Hops!
Yes, there are more blog hops happening this month! First, I already mentioned the Back to School blog hop by Island Batik where each day there is a new post. Click here to get the whole schedule. Note: my day is not until Sept 28th- which is good as I have not yet made my project!
The second blog hop this month is for my designer friend Tammy Silvers of Tamarinis. She has a new line out with Island Batik called Batiks Go Retro!
It is a really fun line and back in the spring I got a chance to play with the fabrics. Want to see what I made? Well, I have posted about it before but now you have to wait until my day on the hop- next Wednesday Sept 20th.
