Hi all! I hope you had a lovely weekend! Hubby and I had a great weekend. Friends of ours from VT were in CO for a wedding and we got to meet them for breakfast before they took off to head back home. So wonderful to see them!
Then we went to the Cherry Creek Arts Festival; a lovely outdoor arts show in Denver. We walked around for a while, just looking at all the great art. Wow. People are so creative. I really wanted to buy something this time, support the artists but I was torn. I finally settled on a photograph by Karin Connolly Daley.
Now I just need to frame it. Click here to see some of her work as my photo does not do her photo justice!
And now, it is back to work Monday.
Have you been following the Bitty Blocks quilt along over at Quiltmaker magazine? If not, let me tell you about them. It started in January and they have been posting a free PDF of a bitty block each month. The blocks finish at 3″ and 4″- which is why it is called BITTY blocks. They are itty bitty!
I knew about it, but really had not paid attention for some reason until this weekend. I may have to catch up on this quilt along; I certainly have a lot of scraps I can use in bitty blocks. They even have handouts on some possible layout options, color and value, and suggestions to make some of the blocks easier.
Here are the few sailboats I made this morning in just a few minutes before breakfast. Aren’t these bitty boats adorable? They have directions for 2 different bitty boats. I will start on the other ones soon.
Click here to get in on the bitty blocks fun!
happy quilting,
Kate
The quilt show- I almost forgot! I will be at the Rocky Mountain Quilt, Craft and Sewing Festival this week in Castle Rock, CO- Thur, Fri and Sat in the Innova booth. Come say hi! I will have a few books for sale!
