Hi friends!
Today I am going to share my first block for the Quilter’s Planner Hexie Snowflake Sampler!
This month, if you follow the #qp2019sewalong on Instagram, you will see people are posting different blocks for January. That is because the Quilter’s Sampler has 2 different options for the quilt setting and each one uses a different number of blocks and has a different plan!
And I am not using either setting. Go figure right? I am still working out the exact details but I have the basic plan of what I am going to do and it uses the same number of blocks as the original quilt. I will share my setting as soon as I iron out all the details!
Following the original quilt block plan made this month easy- only one block!

This block was pretty simple to put together. First I made the Quarter Square Triangle (QST) units. I love trimming the QST units to size using the Tucker Trimmer. It is so easy to be able to line up the seam lines with the lines on the Tucker Trimmer.
Once I had sewn and trimmed all my QST units, it was super easy to sew the units into rows and then sew the block together.
I am loving this blue and white scheme I picked. The fabrics are from Moda Fabrics- a line called Nuno by Debbie Maddy.
This is going to be fun! Are you making this quilt? What colors are you using?
To get the pattern, you do need to purchase the Quilter’s Planner which comes with a free magazine with patterns for all the quilts in the planner including the Hexie Snowflake Sampler. Click on the link over in the side bar if you are interested.
happy quilting!
