I am so happy you are visiting with me on my blog today.

My block, Pixie Hearts is in the new Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks magazine and I am excited to share it with you!

Here is my block:

I love how the squares look like like hearts- in a pixelated, modern way. Here is what it would look like as a quilt.

And here are some ways you can recolor it.  Go bold for a striking Valentine’s Day table topper!

Depending on where you place your light, darks and brights, you can make the block look different.

    Your block is so pretty and I am a big fan of hearts. I gave my red and white quilt to my daughter so I would make it in red and white using different shade so red that work well together

    Congrats on your block, Kate! I think I’d use Christmas red and green color way. Am overdosing on hallmark movies, so I’m in the jingle bell mood. I love how uber difficult it looks all put together. Very impressive! Congrats!!

    I would use blue and gray and purple! Using different hues of each color changes the way it looks and that is what makes them all unique.

    I love how it looks different using various placements of the light/dark. One night at quilt guild we were doing show and tell. Another quilter and myself realized we both had used the exact same pattern but our value placements were so different it really didn’t look anything alike.

    LOOOOOVE your Block!! The colors you used for your Block are Perfect! I think I would use some pretty shades of purples (daughter’s FAVE color..) with some med green, and maybe a lil’ pale yellow. But as for me…I would love it in an Aqua, lime, and Gray.

    I do love the blue and green option, but right now I am on a fall kick, making things in rich reds, oranges, yellows, and browns. I would love to make a table runner for every season, starting with one using fall colors.

    Good job, Colorado gal, would have been fun to hear your talk at ACQ! Colors on your block, I would go with scrappy reds, yet pair them up to emphasis the hearts. I have a double 4 patch quilt where some of the blocks accidentally came out like your hearts. Kathy in NE Colo

    The versatility of your block is wonderful. I would probably make it in hues of purple and lime green. My husband went wild over that combination at one of the last quilt shows he attended with me.

    Love how the tiny hearts pop out on the first few quilts so I’d stick with heart colors – dk red and a bunch of pinks/whites.

    I love how different the block looks depending upon the colors chosen. I think I’d use pinks (I have a lot–pink is my granddaughter’s favorite color) and white.
