Hi friends!
What are you up to? I am in FL right now to care for a family member who just had some surgery. So the other day, while I was out and about getting supplies for her, I found a cute quilt shop. Quilter’s Choice. Of course I HAD to stop.
Going around on the web the other day were links to a very cute bag designed by Sherri McConnell and the tutorial was on the Fat Quarter Shop’s blog. I got it in my head to make one of these bags for her. So I popped in the shop and got some supplies.
Aren’t these fabrics too cute? I got a few extras and 2 zippers in case I decided to make more than one!

And they carry my favorite brand of thread- Aurifil so I got a fun color to quilt with!

Luckily for me, I had brought my dear little featherweight sewing machine with me on this trip. I am here for 10 days in a hotel room (surgery is out of town for both of us!) and I figured I would have some time to sew while she recovered and napped.
And here is the bag! Isn’t it darling?

I think it is.

And I even quilted it on the featherweight, thru the Soft and Stable and everything. So really not bad!

So if you want to make your own #simplezipperbag!, click here to go to the Fat Quarter Shop blog for all the information!
While she was at the hospital yesterday, I walked around town and saw lots of palm trees (nope, we don’t have many of those in Colorado!)…
and these lovely flowers…
I tried to get pictures of the little lizards that kept darting across my path as I walked but they were way too fast. They are faster than the bunnies back home!
I hope you all have a great weekend; next week we are going to have a magazine giveaway here on the blog so come back for that.
happy quilting,
Kate
You and that cute featherweight did a great job! Love it.
Thanks!
