Sometimes I make quilts and I really like them. Other times I LOVE them! I love this quilt that I made for McCalls Quilting magazine. It is called Fields of Blue.
I used 3 lines of fabric from Benartex- one called Carina by Amanda Murphy and Soul Blossom by Cherry Guidry and mixed in a few pieces from their Color Weave line. The fabrics are just beautiful.
The appliqué was really fun because the flowers are pretty big. What I did was to cut out the flower pieces, fuse the pieces together and then fused the whole flower in place.
I lay the flower pieces on my Appliqué Pressing sheet, fused them and then peeled the the entire flower off in one big piece!
If you would like to make this quilt, you can pick up a copy of the magazine at your local shop or click on my affiliate link here to go to the McCall’s site to order a magazine.
Thanks for stopping by and visiting with me!
happy quilting,
Kate
A cover girl quilt-congratulations! I love your quilt too-those are definitely my colors!
Thanks Debbie!
How exciting to have your quilt featured in McCall’s Quilting magazine AND on the cover! It is a beauty and the flowers in the corner really make it unique…such a great idea!
Thanks Kathy, it really is one of my favorites that I have done!
