Hi friends!
Can you believe it??? We are ready for the setting blocks and borders! Our quilt is almost done!
If you are new to the party, Kris Poor and I have been sharing tips about the blocks in our new block of the month quilt pattern Jingle Bell Pines! Click here to see the introduction post.
Setting Blocks and Borders
There are 2 blocks in the setting- the leaves and the winter berries.
Easy to piece, there are just a lot of leaves!
Our Tip
After you have made your setting blocks and put the center of the quilt top together, you are ready for the borders. In our pattern, we give you the exact size to cut the borders.
BUT, sometimes our quilts are not the perfect size.
SO, before you cut the borders, measure your quilt through the center.
Don’t measure your quilt along the sides as they can stretch a bit.
For side borders measure through the center of the quilt from the top to the bottom and cut the borders to this measurement.
For the top and bottom borders, measure the quilt through the center, side to side, and cut the borders to this measurement.
Using this measurement helps your quilt to stay square.
Other Colorations
Here is the full quilt with a khaki background.
And the full quilt with a navy background.
