Tiger Lily is one of the new quilts in our Cat Nap series- quilts named after our cats.
Tiger Lily (the cat) is my baby. Her full name is Princess Tiger Lily (named by my daughter 15 years ago) and she is a snuggler.
Her quilt isn’t too bad either! She sure likes it!
Made using a jelly roll, Tiger Lily has a lot of options for settings. And color placement. Once you choose your jelly roll, you can decided whether you need lighter backgrounds or darker.
My jelly roll in the cover quilt, called Juggling Summer by Zen Chic for Moda Fabrics, had a lot of dark fabrics in it.
So I chose to use two different light fabrics for the two backgrounds.
My quilt was quilted by Laura McCarrick, of Always Keep Quilting- she always does an amazing job!
Elizabeth’s jelly roll, a Tonga Treats called Creamsicle, had a lot of lights- so she used a darker fabric in one of her backgrounds and a yellow in the other. Gorgeous!
Elizabeth’s quilt was quilted by Sandi Verbridge– she did a wonderful job with the quilting.
So many options- just find a jelly roll you love and add some background fabric to make it pop!
Have a jelly roll that you love, but all the coordinating fabric is long gone? No worries, grab a great solid fabric- or what about using some dots or a tone on tone?
So grab a jellyroll, grab the pattern, get going and have some fun!
Don’t forget to email us a picture of your quilt- we would love to add it to the gallery!
Thanks for visiting!
Happy quilting,
Kate
