Hi friends!
You may or may not have noticed but there have been a few changes here on the blog, and on my website and shop!
Story of a new website
Years ago, when I started my pattern business with Elizabeth, it seemed like such a dream! So we ended up naming our quilt pattern business, Seams Like a Dream Quilt Designs! Then when I started to branch out more on my own, I formed a second business, Kate Colleran Designs, LLC. Then when Elizabeth retired, I had 2 businesses!
I merged the businesses into Kate Colleran Designs, but publicly still used Seams Like a Dream. So finally, I decided it was time. Time to have everything under one name.
And while we were updating the name, we gave the website a refresh! I hope you like it! Click here to check out the shop and here to check out the website!
Quilt Patterns get a refresh!
Starting a year or so ago, I have been slowly making changes to my quilt patterns. Many of my older patterns have been updated to a booklet format and with a new cover- sometimes with a new quilt image! Same pattern, updated look.
All my newest patterns are in booklet format. Why the change? Well, if the pattern is a booklet and stapled, I can send retail orders without plastic bags. I would love to reduce my plastic footprint so this is one way to do that!
I started offering all my pattern that are in booklet format on my new website either in a plastic bag or not in a plastic bag. Starting November 1, all booklets will be sold on my website not in a plastic bag unless requested.
Wholesale orders for shops still go out in plastic bags.
Another way to reduce plastic is for me to offer more PDF patterns. I am slowly working on that as well. For now, you can click here to see the patterns currently offered as PDFs.
We all grow and change and my business is slowly changing. I am still creating quilt patterns occasionally for magazines, still creating lots of new patterns for my pattern line, still doing lectures and classes for guilds and shops but now I am branching out and, hopefully, will soon have a fabric line to show you that I designed myself!
Thank you for being great readers, supporters of my business and supporters of me! I appreciate all of you who read my blog, follow me on Instagram and Facebook and support my pattern business. Please reach out with any questions- you can email me anytime!
happy quilting!
Kate
