Hi friends!
When I was the given the opportunity to work with a signature line with Island Batik, I had been hoping to be able to debut the line and all my new patterns at Quilt Market. Of course, this past May, Quilt Market was cancelled. So I have been slower than normal in releasing all the new patterns I designed using the line Tiki Punch.
Tiki Punch is due to arrive in shops in late fall. Isn’t it great? So bright and fun! A happy line of fabrics!
Tropical Sky, a Pieced Star Quilt
But it is kind of fun, releasing quilt patterns one at a time. This way each one gets it’s own day to shine!
Today I am introducing you to Tropical Sky.
I have always loved those old fashion star quilts – you may have seen them in the pink and brown with stars going in vertical columns separated by width of a print. I love those quilt!
Even though I am truly more of a “bright” fabric girl, I love that pink and brown.
Tropical Sky is a modern take on those quilts.
This quilt may look complicated but it really isn’t! Just a pieced star block with 2 different corners, set on point.
A striking design only using 5 fabrics.
And I love the quilting on this one…
It looks great on the back too!
Tropical Sky!

happy quilting,
