Hi friends!
This week I am sharing my reveal of ReStore – a fabric bin pattern that uses orphan quilt blocks. The pattern is part of the series called ReImagine – a series of project patterns that use the leftover, orphan blocks and remake them into a useful and fun project!
ReStore – the bin
This ReStore pattern uses either a 6″, 8″ 10″, or 12″ blocks and makes it into a fabric bin. The bigger the block, the bigger the bin!

The bins are great for storing other projects, leftover fabrics, piles of FQs… so many ways to use them.
My Remake
I started with this leftover block from the State Quilt blocks series- I made the block for CT with the depiction of a lighthouse.

I love this block but never got around to using it! So this project was perfect for the block.

I found leftover batiks fabrics in my stash that went really well with the block and ta-da! I had a bin. The bins go together really quickly and are a fun and functional way to use up those leftover blocks!

First I stitched around the appliqué and then the block was ready to put in the bin!

I love how it came out!

The picture isn’t great but it was so windy at the beach- we were lucky the bin didn’t blow away!
Finishing School Challenge
We’re challenging each other—and you—to turn orphan blocks into finished projects! To read more about how to participate in the challenge, click here to open a new window and read the blog post about it.
Next week we will share about our next finish and I will post here the completed project in 2 weeks!!
happy quilting,
Kate
