I have posted a couple of times about my quilt Gemstone– a modern FQ friendly quilt! And now, let’s start the new year, 2026 off with a fun giveaway!
I want to share the pattern and some fabrics to make it with a couple of lucky quilters!
Gemstone
This quilt is one of the ones I have taught at quite a few quilt guilds. It looks like it would be hard to piece those diamonds but really, they are just half rectangle triangles!
Easy peasy once you know the secrets.
I shared some tips for this quilt in this blog post.
Blissful Blooms
This is also a quilt that I have recolored a few times. It just looks good in so many different fabric lines and this current remake is in a line called Blissful Blooms.
The fabrics are by Cynthia Frenette from Ink and Arrow for QT Fabrics and is due out in stores this month!!
I did an unboxing video – click here – of the fabrics when I received them. They are really pretty!
I love the mix of florals with the washed abstracts and little prints in this bold palette of soft yellows, greys, white and black.

Happy New Year! I love these great color combination and they are great for several designs of quilts including Gemstone. Yes it looks like diamonds, but they are half triangles . . . must be fun to make it.

Beautiful fabric bundle 😊
A lot of people overlook grey and think it is boring, but it’s actually a very rich and varied color that deserves to be a star in its own right. This is a good pattern to show off what it can do. It goes great with yellow.

The Gemstone quilt pattern looks beautiful! I’m sure, as you said, it looks so pretty in many colorways! I’m thinking even an “I Spy” quilt would be very interesting in this pattern!

That is an awesome quilt, and the yellows in that fabric collection are awesome too! I can definitely see what a gorgeous quilt that would make, but that pattern lends itself to almost any color palette!
