Hi friends,
Today is the IG and blog hop for a new batik fabric Morris Tiles from Island Batik!
The Morris Tiles batik fabric
Morris Tiles is a beautiful batik line designed by Kathy Engle of Island Batik for Tammy Silvers.
The Quilts
I decided to recolor one of my quilts called Breakout using the line and show a few different versions.
Breakout is a modern log cabin pattern and I happen to be the pattern in a class this coming weekend for the CQC guild here in Colorado!
In the first 2 images, I show the quilt with a light background and the softer side of the teals and peachy colors. The first setting is one I have used a lot with this quilt; I just really like it!
The second setting is also fun!
A dark background using batik fabric Morris Tiles
In these next 2 images I switched just the background and used one of the darker teals – bold and dramatic!
Are you a light background quilter or a dark background quilter?
Now a couple more images of quilts using the light background but with slightly deeper teal and peachy colors in 2 new, different arrangements!
A fun way to show the versatility of the blocks!
Want to see more quilts in Morris Tiles??? There are other designers showing off their quilts in Morris Tiles so be sure to go check them out!

The new fabrics are delightful. I am really excited by the light and dark versions of the quilt. I make a lot of baby quilts but make larger ones for Quilts of Valour. (Although Canadian, I have a US address!)
