Today is a good day! Today my new quilt pattern Tropical Moon is officially released! A modern Drunkard’s Path quilt!
New Quilt Pattern
It is always so nerve-racking bringing a new pattern out. Will anybody like it? Is everything correct? I agonized over the instructions and go over the math a gazillion times (OK, I know that is not a number but it feels like one!) Did my editor catch all my mistakes?
New Drunkard’s Path Templates
Regardless of the apprehension, it is also always so exciting! I love every quilt pattern I release into the wild. This one is near and dear to my heart as it also uses my BRAND new template set: Drunkard’s Path Template Set 1!!
Now the template set is still on preorder BUT it will be ready by next week. You can grab them for the sale price here. I just have to finish the table runner that will be on the cover.
There are many Drunkard’s Path templates on the market and here is why I created mine. I wanted to be able to make different looking size Drunkard’s path blocks with one template. So, I worked on the instructions so you can make a bunch of sizes from one template set! Intrigued? I will show you more next week!
Plus my templates will include instructions for a table runner! So you get a free pattern inside the templates!
Modern Drunkard’s Path Quilt
In the meantime, Tropical Moon is my new quilt pattern and you can grab it here. The patterns has 3 sizes in it: crib at 40″ x 52″, youth (pictures in the post are this size) at 52″ x 64″ and a lap quilt at 66″ x 82″.
The cover quilt used fabrics from the fabric line Tiki Punch by island Batik and that fabric line is in stores!
And the best part? It is a Fat Quarter friendly quilt!!!! You know how I love fat quarters!

UPDATE – someone asked if I had a version of the quilt using other fabrics, maybe with a dark background. And yes, I made one using Cherrywood Hand Dyed solids with a black background! It is so cool! BUT, I don’t have picture of it- just an image of the fabrics and an EQ mockup. The quilt is at a shop and I finished it just in time to send it away and never got a good picture.
When it gets home, I will be sure to grab a photo! For now…

I did do the quilt in Cherrywood solids with a black background. BUT… I don’t have a picture of the finished quilt. It is at a shop and I just finished it in time for the shop so never got a photo! But I added 2 images to the post with a picture of the fabrics I used and an EQ mockup of the quilt!
