Hi friends!
Tomorrow I get on a plane to go to Quilt Market Houston 2018! Woo hoo! I will have 3 very full suitcases of quilts, patterns and demos to bring and show off.
For our October Adventures in Quilting blog post, my good friend and designer extraordinaire Tammy Silvers and I decided to show you our new patterns that will coming out at Market. You all get a sneak peek!
And I have a lot of new stuff. I have 7 new patterns!
One I already put up on the website earlier this month called Ninth Square.
This one is a remake of a pattern I had worked on for Craftsy. I added more sizes and redid the pattern and it is just a quick easy quilt that uses my favorite precut – 2 ½” strips!
Another new strip quilt pattern is called Hop the Fence! Another remake. In this pattern, I have 5 sizes of quilts- a crib quilt, 2 lap quilts and 2 queen quilts. You get to pick the version you want to make for the lap and the queen- with or without sashing and borders!
I love the quilting on the crib quilt- can you see the puffy channels created by the quilting design?
This pattern even has leftover projects for this bits of the strips that are leftover from the quilt!
Another precut I like to use are squares- 5″ squares and 10″ squares- so one of my new patterns uses those! Meet Woven In.
This pattern uses 5″ squares for the crib quilt and 10″ squares for the lap and queen quilts. Another simple but striking quilt!
The next pattern to show you is simple but a little different. I originally designed this for the fabric line called SoHo by Northcott. Here is the crib quilt size in the 2 color lines: Penthouse and Loft.
Given the line’s name I just had to call this pattern Tribeca! Don’t you just love this fabric?
I have made this quilt in Cherrywood fabrics that I will show next week and in some wonderful batiks that I can’t show you yet!
I just love this pattern. Not hard to make but oh so dynamic!
Another new pattern I designed for Northcott is called Light up the Night. Now this is not a beginner pattern! But the fabric was so eye popping I felt I had to do something eye popping to compliment it!
There are 2 blocks that are paper pieced.
Another new pattern that I made using paper pieced blocks is called Spiral Galaxy. It is a remake of a pattern in Quiltmaker magazine a while back that a guild asked me to teach. So I decided to tweak the design, write it up as a pattern with 3 size options and ta-da! Here it is in a new line coming soon from Susan Emory for Michael Miller called Goat Island.
And here it is in another new line by Batik Textiles that will be showcased at Market.
Phew! That is a lot of new quilt patterns. But I have one more new pattern that I am really excited about!
This is my new bag pattern called Carry This! It is a cute crossbody design with 2 outside zippered pockets, one inside pocket and, of course!, a wonderful braid detail!
The bag works with my Mini Braid Template.
It is super fun to make and while there are 3 zippers, it is still not too hard. I just love this one!
OK! So that is all the new stuff.
And all the new patterns will be on sale for $8 while I am away. No special code needed. On Wednesday Nov. 7th, they will go back to their regular price of $10.
Have you even wondered why patterns cost $10? Click here to read a wonderful post by pattern designer Kirsty of Bonjour Quilts.
