Hi friends!
Today on the blog I am part of the Just My Type Digital Quilt Challenge!
The fabric
What exactly is this? Well, my good friend Tammy Silvers designed a wonderful line of fabric for Island Batik called Just my Type.
The fabrics are in my favorite colors- blues and greens! You may have seen some of my posts on this fabric before as I actually made a quilt using the fabrics, but here is the whole line:
The quilt challenge
Next month I will be showing some of the quilts and things I actually made using these fabrics.
You can see a post about one of the projects here!
But this challenge was to take the fabric SKUs and create or recolor a digital quilt! All week other designers have been posting pictures of their projects using these fabrics!
Links to all their blogs is at the bottom of this post.
Many of you may know I use EQ8 to design most of my quilts.
I recolored one of my FAVORITE quilts for you to see! Recoloring quilts in EQ8 is pretty easy. You just upload the fabric SKUs and use them to color your quilt. Easy peasy!
The quilt – Savannah Squares
The quilt I chose to recolor is Savannah Squares! It is one of my favorite quilt patterns for 2 reasons.
1. It uses my favorite precut- fat quarters!
2. It’s fast and fun to put together and looks good in just about any line of fabric!
Ta-da!
Doesn’t it look good?
Another quilt
I had sew much fun coloring that quilt, I decided to color another quilt! In the spirit of a good quilt challenge. Tropical Sunset is another of my fat quarter friendly quilts.
And don’t worry, the appliqué is optional!
Tell me in the comments if you are a Fat Quarter fan! Curious minds want to know!
If you want to see more ideas on how to use Tammy’s fun fabrics, check out these other bloggers below and their digital quilts!
happy quilting!

I am always looking for fat quarter friendly patterns
Debbie,
I love working with FQs!! So I hope to design more FQ patterns in the future. I need a way to use up my stash!
I always tell myself I’m going to buy yardage and no more FQs. But cannot resist a beautiful bundle of fats. It’s like I’ve picked up a bag of all my favorite candy bars!! And they are, in no particular order: Butterfingers, Reese’s PB Cups, Butterfingers, 3 Musketeers, Butterfingers, Peppermint Patties, Butterfingers….see where I’m going. My grandkids even know that I will pay them for the BF’s they get in their Halloween trick or treat bags ???
Yum….
FQs are really like candy or potato chips- I have a serious addiction to chips…. BBQ, Plain, Doritos… !!!!
