Hi friends!
This past weekend I needed a break from the drudge of computer work so I grabbed some of my fabric scraps – my fun, bright batik fabric scraps – and made some awesome Braid Quilt Table Runners.
I just love making this braid quilt table runner – it’s pretty fast and a great way to use up scraps strips. And making braids is so low stress- no points to match, and even if you are little off on one seam- no ripping required! Jack (the ripper) gets a rest.
One of my customers, Cathy, sent me this picture of her Table Scraps runner she made last fall and told me she was making a Valentine fabric one to celebrate the holiday this week! I love her fall version.
And what a great idea to use Valentines fabrics! I might have to make a Valentines one next year.
I also decided to cut some pieces for a Leftovers braid quilt table runner- I realized I could cut 2 braid pieces, then some parallelograms for Leftovers and then cut another 2 Braid pieces all from one strip!
Sweet!
I still have some finishing up to do, but I was able to piece 3 braid quilt table runners in just a short period of time. Not too bad. All from leftovers/scraps!
What is your “go to” pattern when you want to make something and get it done? Or when you need a quick project? I would love to hear!
happy quilting,
Kate

This week Block 3 will be posted HERE on my BLOG on Wednesday! So I will see you then!
Pretty! and *sweet*, being able to cut for both projects at the same time. I have so many large UFOs, that when I finish a project I go straight to the next one without using up the scraps of the first. I am getting a really awesome scrap collection and look forward to one day have a great run of scrappy-quilt projects. So I don’t have a go-to quick-piecer pattern yet. I really dig that Leftovers, though.
Lynette,
I know what you mean; I usually just move onto the next project. Building a stash is great fun! But every now and then it is nice to make a quick small project with my scraps- and Leftovers is a great project!
