Hi friends!
New Quilts
I have been slowly showing off some of my new quilts that I designed for Spring Quilt Market.
Most of the new quilts use my Signature Fabric line with Island Batik called Tiki Punch. Tiki Punch will be in shops in November.
Last week on my Facebook Live I showed off a few ways to make Quarter Square Triangles. I did that because one of my new patterns, Tropical Sunset uses QSTs. And while the fabric isn’t in shops yet, my new fat quarter quilt pattern is ready to go!
It’s a Fat Quarter friendly, beginner friendly, easy-to-piece quilt!
The fat quarter quilt pattern has 3 sizes and optional appliqué!

Bluprint
Have you ever watched classes on Blupint – which used to be called Craftsy? A few years ago, Craftsy was acquired by NBC Universal and things on the site changed- they went from the model from where you could only purchase a class with lifetime access to a model where, with a subscription, you could watch any class as many times as you wanted.
Last Friday they announced they have decided to shut down. Many of us thought, what about the classes I purchased and was supposed to have lifetime access to? I know that thought crossed my mind. At first, there was no information on how this would be handled. Would everything go away? Would I somehow have access to the classes I purchased once the site shut down?
I have seen some very angry comments on Facebook regarding this. To be honest, I will be very unhappy if the site shuts down and I lose access to the classes I had. Some of which I have only watched for a few minutes!
But, I am not angry. Sad, disappointed, but not angry. To be honest, I kind of viewed lifetime access the same as a marriage… as long as we both shall live.
Bluprint will no longer be, so I would not have been surprised if they took the classes away. But they are looking to find a way to get people access to the classes they purchased, so I give them credit for that.
Not only do I have classes that I have purchased, I have classes that I filmed on Bluprint. And patterns that I designed for them. Not sure what happens to all of that but, we’ll see. For sure, I am losing income from them.
Things change. And we have all been experiencing many changes lately so maybe that is why people are so angry. And while many complained about the changes that happened when Craftsy went to Bluprint, and I will agree, on a corporate level, they made many mistakes, every person I ever worked with at the company was wonderful. They were all warm, helpful and very easy to work with. I wish them all the best.
Today and tomorrow I am filming classes for Quilting Daily; I can’t wait to be able to tell you more about that in the future! In the meantime…
happy quilting!
