So… my summer is flying by. The other day, I went out on the deck and there were leaves. Not green leaves. Yellow leaves. Fall like leaves. WHAT??? I am not ready for summer to be over.

Don’t get me wrong. I love fall. The colorful leaves. The bright blue sky. The crisp air. Apples right off the tree that snap when you bite them and dribble a little down your arm.
But fall leads to winter and while, it has been so hot this year, I am not ready for winter. I guess that is why we have fall first. It gently leads us closer to winter. It takes our hand and walks us along the path to winter.
But while we still have it, summer is here. Have you got any plans this weekend?
My weekend plan? I have sewing to do! I am prepping for a show in October and there is so much to do this time. I have a lot of new patterns coming in the next few weeks/months so keep an eye out for them.
Here are sneak peaks of the first few that are almost ready to go.
Quarter Turn. A fun, easy block and quilt. It uses just 4 fabrics. In 3 sizes.
Side Step. A remake of a magazine quilt, it will have 3 sizes and is fat quarter friendly!

I love the quilting!

Lighthouse Steps. Made with 1 pack of 2 ½” strips (cover quilt uses the Bayshore strip pack from Paintbrush Studios). In 2 sizes.
I am off to sew… with my window open, enjoying the sunshine. Enjoy your day, however you spend it!
OH- and next week, I will be at the Rocky Mountain Quilt Festival at The Ranch up in Loveland CO. Aug 25-27. Stop by and say hi! if you can. I will be in the Hunter heirloom Quilting booth, 300-202.
happy quilting,
Kate
p.s. Do you get my newsletter? I took the day off yesterday and watched the taping of The Quilt Show here in Centennial. I shared a few fun pictures in the newsletter. In case you missed it, here are two for you! I got to see Victoria Findlay Wolfe and Melissa Sobotka! Amazing!
